Traditional festivals have always served to reduce tension and promote harmony in communities. Global Family Festival celebrates the many multiracial people and families living in the Sacramento region. The festival also celebrates the Sacramento community-at-large that provides the supportive environment for all of us to thrive.

The festival will be comprised of education and entertainment activities with a focus on information and positive images of multiracial people and families. Located on the grounds of the Sierra 2 Community Center, the festival will be free to the public.

Key Components of the Festival
Music - Local musicians with emphasis on ethnic music and music that blends cultures

Juried Art Exhibition -  As part of the festival a "Call to Artists" has been issued seeking art that depicts multiracial people and families and broader themes of racial harmony. A juried art fair with cash prizes will occur as part of the festival. The art will be displayed at the festival.

Dialogues - Authors and film producers who have created works about bridging cultures

Workshops - Helpful workshops for individuals and families everything from "Raising bilingual children" to "Hair care for your bicultural child"

Children's Tables - Activities for small children and older children

Vendors - Products representing the needs of multiracial families 

Food - Good food!
